Preparing for Sunday
As we enter Chapter 4 of Jonah this Sunday, the danger has passed. God rescued Jonah from drowning in Chapter 2. God rescued Nineveh from destruction in Chapter 3. But why then is Jonah, sitting in the bleachers, waiting for judgment in Chapter 4? And who is actually in the most danger?
Let me spoil it for you. It's not Nineveh!
As you prepare to hear from God’s Word in the book of Jonah, meditate on these questions after reading Chapter 4:
- What is Jonah in danger of?
- If I were to sit down next to Jonah in his little home-made shack, what would I warn him of?

Ministry Highlight: Set-Up Team. This behind-the-scenes ministry exists to serve the saints so that they can hear from God in HIs Word and encourage one another. Among other responsibilities, the team sets up and tears down the tents, tables, overflow seating, outdoor speakers and television and the monthly lunch tables and tents. Cornerstone Bible Institute. Returns on Wednesday, September 6th at 7 p.m!
Membership Class, September 10th. If you are curious about membership at CBC, don’t miss the first week of our membership class with Pastor Joshua! Anyone is welcome. Sunday Pre-Service Prayer. Please join us on Sunday mornings from 8:15–8:45am in the Upper Room (except for Sundays when we have Church-Wide Prayer during Equipping Hour).
