There is a kind of religious activity that is dangerous. One thing that makes it so dangerous is that it has the appearance of wisdom but is in reality foolish. This Sunday we are going to begin to look at Luke 11:37–54 where Jesus reveals what that kind of false religion looks like. By considering what he says about the Pharisees and lawyers, we will learn what makes it so foolish and why we must take care to avoid it.
Please pray that we will be transformed by God’s Word.
There is nothing more valuable than truth and nothing sadder than hearing truth and not benefiting from it.
Step one for all of us is to remember what is happening when God’s Word is preached and to ask God for help as we listen.
