We all have a way of evaluating God and what God’s doing in the world and in our lives. The evaluations we make are based on something. And if what they are based on is not true, it's going to be a problem. This Sunday, I want us to think about the way we make these evaluations by quickly looking at the way John evaluates what is going on with Jesus, and then, more importantly, looking at the way Jesus evaluates what is going on with John in Luke 7:18–28.
Come praying God will use this message to help us see this world and our lives from His perspective.

For the younger children this Sunday, you can have them listen for the word: “circumstances.” To encourage them, Marda will have some treats afterward.
“Contentment is possible if you get skill in the art of it; you may attain to it, and it will prove to be not such a difficult thing either, if you but understand the mystery of it. There are many things that men do in their callings, that if someone who doesn’t have that job sees, might think is a mighty hard thing, and that he should never be able to do it. But that is because he does not understand the art of it; there is a twist of the hand by which you may do it with ease.”

This week we’ll be learning how to speak this truth of “In Him” to one another. To prepare for Equipping Hour, meditate on the following question: which of the blessings of our being “in Christ”/”united with Him” has stood out to you as a source of joy in your current stage of life and trials? (Teachings from previous weeks can be found here.)
