How do you feel when you come to a genealogy in your daily Bible reading?
They may not seem all that exciting to you. But obviously, the Bible thinks genealogies are important. After all, there sure are a lot of them.
But why?
Can a list of old names really benefit you?
This Sunday we are going to see the answer is "Yes!" by looking at Luke 3:23-38. In this genealogy, we find a key to understanding how Jesus fulfills the Old Testament. As we do, I am praying God will put the Son of God on display and your hearts will be filled with a deeper love for Him and a greater assurance that He truly is the salvation we are longing for.
Come ready! Come expectant! Come praying!

We have literally spent months talking about becoming a church who disciples. We’re beginning a new initiative in March called Transformation Groups to help us disciple one another. We’ve read a whole book together on discipleship. But maybe you are still thinking, I wonder what it would look like to sit down with someone and actually do this?
This Sunday during Equipping Hour I will try to give you one example of what 20 weeks of Transformation Groups could look like.
And oh, if you haven’t signed up for a transformation group yet, here’s a form to do so.
I’ve included some things in the sermon brief document that I think will help you and your children benefit from the message this Sunday. Check them out. Print out what’s helpful. Or perhaps you can come up with a better plan yourself. For the younger children this Sunday, you can have them listen for the word, “Adam.” To encourage them, my wife Marda will have some treats afterward.
